Petrol & Diesel Become Costlier in Indore, Prices Rise Multiple Times in May

Fuel prices in Indore have once again increased, creating concern among daily commuters and middle-class families. According to the latest update, petrol in the city is now priced at ₹114.54 per liter, while diesel has reached ₹99.57 per liter. This marks the fourth consecutive hike in fuel prices by oil companies within the last few weeks.

Reports suggest that on May 15, fuel prices saw the first major increase of nearly ₹3 per liter. After that, another hike of around 90 paise per liter was implemented on May 19. Oil companies again increased prices by approximately 87-91 paise on May 23, followed by the latest hike on May 25, where petrol became costlier by ₹2.61 and diesel by ₹2.71 per liter. Overall, fuel prices have risen by nearly ₹7-8 per liter within just 10 to 12 days.

Experts believe that rising international crude oil prices and global market tensions are the main reasons behind the continuous increase. Citizens fear that higher fuel costs may also impact transportation fares and the prices of essential goods in the coming days.
